Central Illinois Foodbank wrapped up its 13th Annual Corporate Food Fight Challenge with 20 businesses participating in the food, funds and friends drive. This year $29,116.18 was raised by the businesses, along with 524 volunteer hours logged and over 13,568 pounds of food donated.
The 2018 champion is Hickory Point Bank whose staff held a cornhole tournament and radio remote that raised nearly $5,000. The Hickory Point Bank staff put in just over 100 hours of volunteer service.
“We appreciate the opportunity to be involved since Springfield is our home, too. What better way for Hickory Point Bank to help advance the common good and improve life for everyone in our community than to support Central Illinois Foodbank,” said Bob Mizeur, Senior Vice President, Market Manager at Hickory Point Bank. “It’s easy to embrace the mission of the Foodbank and we are proud to be a part of the great work that the organization does on daily basis all year long.”
The following companies participated in this year’s challenge: Allscripts: Litchfield, Bank of Springfield, Blue Cross Blue Shield, BUNN, Conn’s Hospitality Group, E.L.
